Thomas Leske graduated in marine engineering (Dipl.-Ing.) from the University of Rostock in 1972, obtaining a doctorate in 1988. He was a visiting professor at the University of Cochin, India, in the Ship Technology Department from 1983-86, and a professor at the University of Rostock, department of Marine Engineering from 1988-92. He had worked in shipyards and in the marine engine industry from 1976-81.
His career in intellectual property began in 1992, when he joined the patent division of Kraftanlagen Heidelberg. The following year, he joined the firm Bardehle et al. where he became a partner in 1998. He became a European Patent Attorney in 1997 and a German Patent Attorney in 2000. He joined the FROHWITTER Intellectual Property Counselors as a partner in 2002.
Over the last 18 years, he has specialized in prosecution, litigation and licensing of inventions in mechanical engineering in Germany, Europe and the US.
